What to Expect

Mahjong Monday is OCSM's competitive league, designed for intermediate to advanced players who can hold their own at the table and want to test their game against similar players. You should be able to play at a brisk, autonomous pace (think ~25 minutes per game) without needing prompts or regular reminders on rules.

We play American mahjong by NMJL rules. No blanks. No exceptions.

Leagues run for five weeks each, five times a year: Winter, Spring, Early Summer, Late Summer, and Fall. Registration opens about one month before each season begins and is available exclusively online. Spots go fast — Early Summer 2026 sold out in under 15 minutes.

Monday Player Checklist

  • You can play completely autonomously — no prompting needed
  • You're comfortable with a 20–25 minute game pace
  • You know NMJL rules (current card)
  • You are okay playing without blanks
  • You're ready to play competitively and track scoring
  • You're a good sport — win or lose
